Where's the time go?- Catching up the Digital Scrapbook.

It seems like just yesterday I was headed back to work from maternity leave.....I've been back almost 6 months!  That's longer than I was off and my little boy is not so little anymore!  He turned 9 months on Sunday and he's adorable.  We've been busy enjoying the time with him.  He hasn't quite started crawling yet but he'll get there (sooner than I would like!)  We did have to swap out his carseats.  The carrier style- snap and go one we were using was getting too heavy with him in it!  Rather than have back problems we decided to upgrade to the Covertible style.  He's still rear-facing but the carseat is much more like a seat in a rocket ship than what he was in before.

At about 2 months.
At 9 months in the new big seat- which has cup holders!  (My first car didn't even have cupholders!)

Because he's big now we can't just toss a blanket over him and put him in the car.  He is wearing shoes to keep his socks on his feet (he loves to pull them off!  I also got him a coat (which is usually the last thing that goes on him when we walk out the door so I don't have a picture of him in it.

Here's the new shoes!
We've had some other crazy things going on.  Mostly with our house.  We've lived here about 4 years and fortunately the most major thing we've had happen was a rotten bathroom that had to be replaced (right before Daniel was born).  Well this must have been the month for it to all bust loose.

It started last week with a big wind storm.  It ripped off a bunch of shingles on our house which we could hear flapping all night.  Now our house looks kinda ratty from the street because we're missing so many and we even had some contractor stick his card in the door thinking we would be needing someone.  We're making our way through the insurance, mortgage company, roofer maze and should have a new roof soon.  Insurance is great but I learned a lesson that we need to be more diligent about putting away deductibles so our monthly cash flow isn't hit.

The other thing that happened (the day after the roof) was Jesse came home to hear the water heater running in the basement.  This is weird as we'd been gone all day so he opened the closet to find a little puddle of water on the floor which thankfully didn't get to the carpet or anything else around it but he immediately turned off the water to the water heater and called the plumber.  We had what we thought was going to be a good Home Warranty that we'd faithful renewed each year only to find that if we didn't call their contactor (which they don't publish a list of them), they were going to make it virtually impossible to use.  All in all we ended up with a $500 repair on which they say they are only going to pay us $50 for.  We were pretty disgusted with our experience (Home Warranty of America is the company) and we're going to be canceling our warranty.

That's about all for February!  Thank God I had the extra day to get this done :)
