So I'm working from home today which is definitely one of the perks of my job. About once or twice a month I get to work form home....sometimes even more than that. Today I'm taking advantage of the opportunity to get my laundry done before the weekend starts. I have to say I hate laundry! I've been doing my own laundry since I was about 10 and I generally do most of the laundry for a family but it's not something I enjoy at all. It's not really the actual putting it in the machine or transferring it to the dryer that I really mind it's the part that comes after that. It's folding everything and putting it back where it belongs. I think it's mostly because I hate having to wait until everything is done to be able to avoid multiple trips to the same, drawer, closet, or part of the house. Now with the baby laundry it's worse if it gets mixed in with ours because it's smaller and I can't figure out how to fold a onsie so it stays put or figuring out how to pair up those little disappearing socks...
Anyway, I'm changing my method. Rather than sorting things by color (which to be honest I haven't done in a long time because I just wash everything in cold). I'm going to begin with the end in mind. I sorted everything by what happens to it after I'm done washing it. I've got the following piles going:
-Hang up (this can be whether it runs through dryer or hang dries).
-Washer/Dryer/Fold
-Towels and Other Random stuff
-Underwear and socks
-Baby stuff (I can deal with sorting his because it's all in one location)
So obviously my life is so full that I cannot think of anything to blog about besides laundry but that's two posts in one month from me....are you impressed? What are your tips, tricks for handling the choas at home? I'm trying to get better at this but it's going to take a while.
Happy Friday!

Weekend Update
Seems like I'm averaging about 1 post a month right now- :)
This weekend was busy for me. I've got a couple of sickies in my house right now. Daniel came home from daycare on Thursday with a fever. We promptly went off to the Dr. on Friday morning and found out that the poor little guy had an ear infection both ears. He had fever on and off all weekend which was kinda frustrating. It looks like he's better enough to head off to daycare this morning and feeling a better (although not completely himself). Jesse had a nagging cough and has gotten worse so he is going to shoot in this morning to take care of a few things at work and then come home to rest. I will be going back to work because I'm in the middle of year end....the busyness never stops!
Because of all the sickness I spent all day Saturday at home except for a big grocery run in the evening. Then on Sunday I went walking with my friend Jessica and then came home and cooked. I'm really digging this website called OnceAMonthMom. It's a freeze ahead meal preparation site. They come up with a menu, a grocery list, and instructions to cook for your family for a whole month. I didn't make everything they had for the January Traditional Menu because the breakfast stuff isn't really our style but I did make- 2 Mexican Shepherd's Pies, 1 Sloppy Joes, 1 French Dip, 1 Greek Chicken, 1 Terriyaki Honey Chicken, and 1 Meatloaf. Plus I made mac and cheese with chicken for us last night so it was busy! I still have some baking and a couple of breakfast items I want to make tonight but we'll see how I'm doing because Monday's usually wipe me out. I'm glad that I'm able to do this though because it really sets me up to have more time to spend with Daniel and Jesse this week. I feel like I might finally be hitting a groove.
So- happy Monday and here's a picture of my pretty freezer with all the food I made this weekend :)
